I’ve always wanted to visit Corregidor, an island that played a big part of the Philippine history. Finally, this dream was made into reality early part of 2012. Though Corregidor doesn’t comprise 1/8 of our rich history, I still felt the role it played during the Japanese regime.

I hope that the young generation get to have a taste of what Corregidor has to offer both as a historical site and as a tourist spot as well.

These were taken last January 2012 from my pink point and shoot, I’m not a pro with photography but I’m happy with these photos hence the post.

I was surprised to see a man selling fresh buko in the middle of the deep clear sea offering refreshment to snorkeling tourists. Brilliant idea Manong! Only in the Philippines.

Bidding you farewell

Last Friday, I ejoyed my “Personal Leave” as I was scheduled for my passport renewal at DFA which only lasted for a little over 2 hours so I was free after lunch onwards. I then thought of dropping by my dermatologist after we’ve discussed about my mole removed during my last visit and another visit way back where she tried to talk me out of it.

Prior to the removal, she first checked and fixed my syringoma, which needs to be removed before they get noticeable. Yes, it’s more grueling compared to the normal cautery because the target area is actually beneath the skin, but I conquered it with a tear or two. Whew.

Checked google and found out that these syringoma are harmless sweat duct tumors, no big deal but bf insisted that I must have them removed.

After dealing with these mini white bumps on my eyelids, we then proceeded with the mole removal. I felt the needle pricking into my skin because the anesthesia wasn’t topical but the syringoma cautery was more painful. I decided to have it removed because it was growing bigger every year and it irritates me at times so I tend to really rub it hard which was a bad practice of course.

The procedure didn’t take long, the waiting-for-my-turn part was actually longer. The downside of this mole removal is that I had it done after I’ve renewed my passport! Good thing the certification needed which I can show for travel was provided but I need to really keep it in a safe place til my next renewal.

I treated myself with 3 pairs of shoes to offset the slight pain I’ve experienced brought about by my derma visit. :)

Mutual Funds

In a nutshell, mutual fund is a pool of funds from small investors overseen by a fund manager. One advantage with regard to mf is that you don’t have to actually watch the market unlike when you own a stock. Mutual Fund can live by itself while you  get yourself tied up to other equally important things that require more time, it’s like having a grown up child that you can leave and just check on in between your tasks. The downside however is that this type of investment require time, the fruits wouldn’t be sweet if you get it say, less than 2 or 3 years.

I’ve traded mutual funds as a job for more than 3 years but haven’t really had the chance the get myself one due to a big excuse… I dont have enough money for it.

Lame and unacceptable indeed. But I’m not getting any younger so I must decide. I haven’t really made up my mind yet but I’m currently reading on some things about mutual fund and have decided to input investing in MF in my bucket list for 2012.

I need to be financially wiser! :)

How 2011 went?

-Yey for zero rebonding

-First time to travel alone

-Colored my hair after years of contemplating (1 item off my bucketlist)

-Learned to embrace a new field instead of just focusing on investments

-Brought smiles to several kids in Negros

-Shopping splurge last Great Singapore Sale and none thereafter

-2010 was for European accent, 2011 was Singaporean accent

-Bid baby powder goodbye

-Included moisturizer and sunblock as part of my daily regimen

-Learned how to say no and make people know that it is a no

-Financially wiser: bills, credit cards :)

-Took driving lessons

-Met good people that made me smile and not so good people that made me better

-Climbed Mt Pinatubo and got bruised

-Tried a healthier lifestyle through Pilates

-Read good books

-Another years of stronger relationship :)

-Realized that I can make 2012 better!

Happy thoughts are gone while posting this picture which I saw from Ana’s flicker, don’t really know who she is but came through her account after starting off with Google.
An exact picture to depict what I feel this past few days, or probably weeks.
I don’t really make decisions based on emotions but I can’t help as I feel the need to come up with one under a sense of urgency. I might regret this in the future but who cares, as long as I consider myself as the sole person responsible then I’d probably go for it.
Risky but probably worth it. As they say, If you’re not willing to risk it all then you don’t want it bad enough.

Worth Watching.

Sleepy but currently having goosebumps while watching Philippine Treasures. Philippine History is indeed very interesting. Hope we still get a generation that will see the importance of history and lessons that can be obtained from it.

Boxing in Manila?

I was elated when a script was run below the TV show I was watching saying something that Pacman’s next fight will be in Manila. I immediately checked online and discovered that Pacquiao and Marquez will be in Manila not for the fight but for the Media Tour. *end of exhiliration*

Pacquiao having his fight in Manila is in my dreamlist not because I’m a hard core fan but because I know that will help boost Philippine tourism. Can you imagine the effect of having tons of tourists flying in to witness his fight? Hotels in the Metro will definitely be fully booked. Souvenir shops will surely be selling over and above their quotas. How wonderful can that be right?

Traffic jam… that will also be present. Still… Department of Tourism and the country as a whole will definitely benefit a lot.
